The XVI Olympic Forum – Romà Cuyàs Memorial will bring together sports leaders to analyze the future of major sporting events

 

On January 14 and 15, the Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport in Barcelona will host the XVI Olympic Forum – Romà Cuyàs Memorial, a key platform for debate on the present and future of Olympism and the management of major sporting events.

 

Among the most relevant speakers are:

 

  • Juan Antonio Samaranch Salisachs, Vice President of the International Olympic Committee, with the lecture “The Future of Olympism”.

  • Alejandro Blanco, President of the Spanish Olympic Committee, who will actively participate in the forum’s debates and analyses.

  • David Escudé, Councillor for Sports of the Barcelona City Council and President of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, and Ramón Agenjo, Director of Fundació Damm and President of Barcelona Global, in the roundtable “Public-private collaboration in major sporting events”.

  • Berni Álvarez,Minister of Sports of the Government of Catalonia.
  • Maria Elena Fort, Vice President of FC Barcelona, on the club’s role in Barcelona’s international projection.
  • Raúl Chapado, President of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation, in the conference “Federation management in major sporting events”.

  • Mar Rovira, Head of Mental Performance at RCD Espanyol, with the lecture “Mental training for professional athletes”.

  • Ruth Beitia, Jennifer Pareja, and Marta Pérez, Olympic athletes, in the roundtable “Mental balance and sporting success”.

  • Jordi Suriñach, Rosina Moreno, and Esther Vayá, members of the AQR-Lab Laboratory.

History of the Forums

The Olympic Forum is an activity organized by Fundació Barcelona Olimpica created as a meeting and discussing point around some topics related with the practise and management of sports.

We destine the Olympic Forum to the professionals of the physical education, managers of sporting entities, clubs and federations. In general, people who are interested in changes in the sports and disciplines to define the future of sport practice.
