A great turnout for the Olympic Walk

This year, on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Barcelona Olympic Games of ’92, many of those who acted as volunteers turned up in their former uniforms, stored and preserved like a treasure.

The 2,513 members of “Barnatresc” – an initiative of the Barcelona Institute of Sport and the Barcelona Ramblers’ Clubs Association – were joined by various groups connected with sport in the city, most notably the members of Volunteers 2000.

The Barcelona Olympic Foundation set up a marquee where anyone who wanted to could have their photo taken with the Olympic torch from Barcelona ’92.

These walks are a social activity that promotes a healthy lifestyle. Barnatresc has a large number of members and its sporting activities are known for attracting a predominantly female audience.
