Pere Miró, honorary patron of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, ends his working life as a member of the International Olympic Committee

Pere Miró will continue to work as Senior Advisor to the President of the CIO, Thomas Bach.

For 30 years, Pere Miró has held various strategic positions within the CIO.
He joined the CIO at the hands of Juan Antonio Samaranch once the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games were over and after a long career he has decided to officially retire.

Among his great challenges within the IOC is the creation and direction of Olympic Solidarity, a project whose objective is to provide assistance to all National Olympic Committees (NOC) for athlete development programs, in particular those with the greatest needs.

According to Pere Miró: “The vocation of the Olympic Games is more relevant than ever. Games and sport help move the world forward. We can do it if we believe in ourselves.”
