Rosa Valbuena, from Bilbao, receives the 3rd International Watercolour and Paper Techniques Award.

Josep Lluis Vilaseca, the former Secretary-General for Sport, and Raquel Medina, exhibition curator and jury member, were given the task of handing out the diplomas to the winners.

The winner of the 3rd International Watercolour and Paper Techniques Award – Sports Theme was Rosa Valbuena, from Bilbao, who will receive a diploma and a cheque for €2500.The second prize (€1800) was claimed by Daniel Fuster, of Barcelona, for his watercolour “Get Set…” while the third place on the podium was taken by Guillermo Fouriner, of Costa Rica, with his painting “The Challenge is With Me”, earning him a prize of €1200.The jury, made up of Mr Romà Arranz, a lecturer at the Massana School in Barcelona; Mr Vicenç Ballestar, a member of the Catalan Watercolour Painters’ Association, and Ms Raquel Medina, exhibition curator and art critic, together with Mr Juli Pernas, Director of the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sport Museum and the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, chose these three works from the 22 on the final shortlist, with praise for the high level attained in this third edition of the event, consolidating its position within the sector.
