The synchronised swimming team, accompanied by the coaching staff and the President of the Spanish Federation, Fernando Carpena, presented Maite Fandos, President of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, with the "Samsara" swimsuit used in the team's free routine with which they claimed the silver medal at the 2013 Barcelona World Championships.

Maite Fandos together with the members of the synchronised swimming team  - Ona Carbonell, Marga Crespí, Thais Enrique, Alba Cabello, Clara Basiana, Clara Camacho, Paula Klamburg, Sara Levi, Meritxell Mas, Irene Montrucchio, Laia Pons and Cristina Salvador accompanied by the coaching staff Esther Jaumá, Anna Vives, Mayuko Fujiki and Anna Montero, the President of the Spanish Federation, Fernando Carpena, and the President of the Catalan Federation, Enric Bertran, added this final piece to the exhibition which will be open free of charge at the Olympic and Sport Museum up until 9 September.

The inclusion of this item in the temporary exhibition at the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sport Museum serves to complete the exhibition on the first decade of “The swimsuits of Spanish synchro success”. A fine haul over the course of a decade which began with 3 medals at the 2003 World Championships and ended with 7 medals at the most recent 2013 World Championships in Barcelona: 3 silvers and 4 bronzes. This is the synchronised swimming squad’s way of paying tribute to Barcelona, a city which has always supported and enjoyed synchro.

The “Samsara” swimsuit belongs to Ona Carbonell, and was worn by her when claiming the prized silver medal in the free team routine. The swimsuit was designed by the ESDi (Advanced Design School) in collaboration with the swimmer herself, who is in her third year of her design studies there.
